Racing news from Saturday 6th March 2019-

Youth riders make strong start in the early season races for Bourne.
At the first round of the Milton Keynes circuit races Owen Lightfoot produced an excellent win and Bryn Richards took 5th place in a high quality field. For the girls Emily Richards, Ellen Fordham and Ellie Peel all rode well building on their strong cyclocross performances.
At the second round Alex Galpin and Dan Galpin competed in the under 16 boys race. In a very fast race a split in the group occurred when the eventual winner attacked. Dan was unfortunately the wrong side of the split but rode on to finish 23rd. Alex stayed with the main group and placed 12th in the dash for the line. Earlier the girls Emily and Ellen had battled with the windy conditions. Emily had a brief skirmish off the front of the race and rode well to be awarded 4th place. Ellen rode well and finished strongly to be rewarded with 11th under 16 girl.

2019 League Registration First and Second Claim Bourne Wheelers

For the 2019 Club Time Trial season we are asking riders to register if they wish to compete in the league and gain league points.

Basically if you will be riding most of the league events, register, if you know you will only be able to ride a few events, and are not bothered about getting points for the few you ride, don’t register.

Non registered riders will still get their placing on the night and be eligible for “Ride of the Night” award. And provided they became a first claim member before the 1st June of the league year, will count in championship events.

We now have split the Scratch league into an A and B league, allowing riders in the lower speed bracket to contend for an overall league win, as well as the handicap title, so by asking riders to register their intention to compete for points should ensure points are awarded to those who need them.

A registration form will be sent out via email, and will be displayed at sign on once racing starts.

Time Trial League News January 19

The 2019 Club TT league will run as and A and B scratch league . This will allow riders in less speedy time band to compete for an overall victory. Details of which league you will compete in will be based on your average times from the previous season. New riders will be based on their time after 3 events.

More details will be released nearer the start of the season.
